Apple has announced a MacBook Pro with a touchscreen, the first Mac to support touch. The new 14- and 16-inch models also bring the Dynamic Island to the Mac.

The display is a tandem OLED panel that Apple calls the PROLED XDR Display, with up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness and a 120 Hz variable refresh rate. The laptops use M5 Pro or M5 Max chips with up to 128 GB of unified memory. The 14-inch model weighs 3 pounds, half a pound less than before, and the 16-inch weighs 4 pounds.

In the US, prices start at $2,899 for the 14-inch M5 Pro and $3,399 for the 16-inch M5 Pro. Pre-orders opened on 28 October and availability begins on 6 November.

All of these specs come from Apple, including its claim of up to 24 hours of battery life.
